Planned to be located within the historic district of Lavilla, the Lavilla Lofts will be within a five minute walk of the Lavilla School of the Arts, the Jacksonville Convention Center, business centers, cafes, the Ritz Theatre, and the Jefferson Street Skyway Express Station. The design consists of 21 townhouses organized around an urban garden surrounding a large oak tree. The side of the units facing the street was designed to create a sense of neighborhood with low planters, intimate lighting, and elevated entries. These loft-style units include an open floor plan and a two-story space teeming with natural light. The 1,500 SF units offer a two-car garage connected to the unit and the 1,200 SF units offer an attached single-car garage and a separate covered space located beneath an elevated terrace, which will provide a spectacular views of the city. This unbuilt project will contribute to creating a “24-hour” downtown that is vibrant and active.
