UNF Library Addition and Renovation
The renovation and addition to the University of North Florida’s main Library accommodates its expanded collections and the need for increased services to the growing university population. The addition includes a new entry, book stacks, study space, computer labs, and lounge areas. To create sustainable design and to afford users with views of the campus, large spans of insulated glass were used providing the library with natural light and reducing the need for artificial lighting solutions. Existing interior elements were used whenever possible. The existing HVAC system was updated to provide for energy efficiency and proper humidity control. The addition compliments the existing facility with state of the art technology and design.
